Did you know that New Orleans is considered "Hollywood South?"
In 2014 alone, 101 major motion pictures or TV shows were filmed in the New Orleans area, including "Jurrasic World" (look for Angela in the airport scene), "Terminator", Halle Berry's "Kidnap" (filmed partly in the house right behind ours!) and "Our Brand is Crisis" (Mark is in the talk show scene).
Recently filmed are major movies "The Big Short", "Elvis & Nixon", and "The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea". Currently filming are TV shows "Scream Queens" and "NCIS: New Orleans" and movies "LBJ", and "Jack Reacher 2".
While watching the Halloween Krewe of Boo parade this year, the Jack Reacher crew took over the spot right in front of us. Funny...the staff were all in costume! They were filming scenes incognito, but we certainly noticed. How could we not? Female lead #CobieSmulders stood two feet away from us, as did a man we believe to be Tom Cruise's stunt double. The parade itself was fantastic as always, but there's also extra excitement in the air when you hear "Action!" and see movies in action. Here are some photos from that night, as well as the set from the day before that we stumbled upon during our French Quarter History and Cocktail tour.
